Before you travel

What is an electronic arrival card?

An electronic arrival card is an immigration, customs or combined online form required from many international travellers. It usually asks for passport details, flight information, travel dates and an address in the destination country. Requirements and filing windows vary: choose a destination, follow the step-by-step arrival card instructions and open the official government form.

An arrival card is not a visa

A visa concerns permission to travel or seek entry, while an arrival card supplies information to border and customs authorities. A submitted arrival card does not replace a visa, passport requirements or the border officerโ€™s decision.

Common questions

Who needs to complete an arrival card?

The rule depends on the destination, nationality, itinerary and traveller status. Each destination page describes a standard tourist scenario and links to the official source.

When should an online form be submitted?

Each destination has its own filing window, ranging from one to 30 days before arrival. Do not submit earlier than the period stated by the authority.

Is it safe to use an intermediary?

Use a government portal for passport details. Compare the domain with the official link shown on the destination page.

Should the QR code be saved?

Yes. Keep the confirmation on your phone and print it as well when the official instructions require a paper copy.
