How to complete E-Arrival Card for Brunei
The original field name appears first, followed by its meaning and a practical completion tip.
Register Now
Register on the official Brunei INRS Portal with an active email address. Immigration has not appointed paid E-Arrival Card agents.
E-mail Address
Use an active address because the one-time activation and password-recovery codes are sent there.
One-Time Password (OTP)
Enter the code from the activation email. Check the spam folder and the address spelling when it does not arrive.
Password
Create and retain the password, as the account is needed to view, amend or cancel a travel card.
Travel Cards
After signing in, open Travel Cards from the main menu.
Create Travel Card
Start a separate registration for every traveller, including each family member and child.
Full Name
Copy all given names and the surname exactly as printed in the passport, without abbreviations.
Date of Birth
Enter the passport date of birth in the format displayed by the portal.
Sex
Select the value corresponding to the passport.
Place of Birth
Enter it in Latin characters according to the passport details.
Nationality
Select the nationality stated in the passport used for travel.
Passport No.
Enter it without spaces or additional symbols and compare every character with the passport.
Place of Issue
Enter the issuing country or place as stated in the passport.
Expiry Date
Enter the expiry date of the passport used for travel.
General Information
Complete every required field marked with an asterisk using the facts of the current trip.
Purpose of Visit
Choose the actual reason for travel. Use Tourism, Holiday or the nearest tourism option for an ordinary leisure visit.
Accommodation in Brunei Darussalam
Enter the name and complete address of the first hotel, apartment or private residence from the booking.
Mode of Entry
Choose Air, Sea or Land according to the way in which the border is crossed.
Arrival Date
Enter the actual date of entry into Brunei.
Port of Entry
Select the actual airport, seaport or land checkpoint. For a normal international flight, this is Brunei International Airport.
Flight / Vessel / Vehicle Number
Enter the service on which you directly enter Brunei. After a flight connection, use the final flight into Brunei.
Departure Date
Enter the planned date on which you leave Brunei.
Mode of Departure
Choose Air, Sea or Land according to the onward itinerary.
Port of Departure
Select the airport, port or land checkpoint through which you will leave Brunei.
Departure Flight / Vessel / Vehicle Number
Enter the onward flight, vessel or vehicle number when required for the selected departure mode.
Create
Before selecting it, review Identity, General Information, Arrival Data and Departure Data.
Reference Number
The confirmation page displays a Reference Number after successful registration. Save it on the phone.
Current Travel Card
To view or amend a registration, go to Travel Cards โ Current Travel Card and open the relevant Reference Number.
Apply Changes
Review the corrected information, confirm Apply Changes and retain the newly displayed confirmation.
Delete
Open the card by Reference Number and choose Delete when the trip is cancelled. Official FAQs state that cancellation is optional and failure to cancel is not an offence.
After submission
Save the confirmation page and Reference Number. At immigration, present a valid passport and a visa when one is required for your nationality.
Common mistakes
Wrong arrival flight number
Enter the final flight that arrives in your destination country, not the first flight in your itinerary.
Details do not match the passport
Copy names, document numbers and dates exactly as shown in the passport, using the required writing system.
Submitting outside the filing window
Check the permitted filing window for the destination and do not submit the form too early.
Using an intermediary website
Compare the portal address with the official link before entering your details, as third-party services may charge extra fees.

Do tourists need the Brunei arrival card?
For a standard tourist trip, complete the E-Arrival Card within 3 days before arrival. Use the official portal and save the confirmation on your phone.
When should the Brunei arrival card be submitted?
The recommended filing window is within 3 days before arrival. Recheck the timing on the official portal before travel.
Does each child need a form?
Yes. Official FAQs require a separate E-Arrival Card registration for every person entering Brunei, including family members and children.
Should the confirmation be printed?
Save the confirmation page and Reference Number on the phone. A printed backup copy can also be useful.
Can an error be corrected after submission?
Yes. Open Travel Cards โ Current Travel Card, select the Reference Number, correct the details and confirm Apply Changes.
Is there a fee for the E-Arrival Card?
No. Brunei's Immigration Department explicitly states that E-Arrival Card registration is free of charge.
Is an E-Arrival Card required for transit?
It is not required for a stopover when the traveller does not pass through immigration control. Register when immigration clearance is required.
Can an E-Arrival Card be cancelled?
Yes. Open Current Travel Card, select the Reference Number and choose Delete. Official FAQs also state that cancellation is optional.
